Know the secrets to a radiant, blemish-free look with these EASY skincare hacks!
We all have experienced having bad skin at some point in our lives, agree? While I can say I’ve never had acne during my teen years, I’m no exception when it comes to pimples, and oily and dry skin too.
It’s annoying and quite embarrassing that I would often cover my face when a big pimple on my nose appeared (yikes!)
There are those who are lucky enough to have spot-free skin (thanks to their genes!) but for most of us, it can happen. It’s inevitable no matter what gender, ethnicity, skin type, etc. we have.
But good thing, there are lots of skincare products, tips, and tricks that can help us remedy our problematic skin. Many people have tried and tested these skincare hacks to work, so why don’t you give these a shot?

1. Make it a habit to wash your face twice a day
Keep in mind that basic cleanliness is the foundation of good skin. So, develop a habit to wash your face twice a day – once in the morning and once at night. Simple reason: you’re prepping your skin to receive topical products like moisturizers, antioxidants, and sunscreens in the morning. While in the evening, you’re removing all the impurities that built up through the day, like dirt, makeup, and environmental toxins.
After cleaning your face, apply Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream Moisturizer. It’s a hyaluronic acid-based moisturizer that instantly improves hydration and with continued use, builds skin to its strongest state to best combat everyday stress.

2. Use aloe vera gel or moisturizer (skincare hacks)
Aloe vera gel is an excellent moisturizer for acne-prone skin. It is water-enriched and has skin healing ingredients that reduce inflammation and fight against bacteria.
Well, it isn’t the cheapest thing out there, but it’s definitely worth investing in a good aloe vera product that has a high concentration of real aloe. So go for a moisturizer if you suffer from dry skin, or stick to a gel if you have combination or oily skin.
Use this Organic Aloe Vera gel daily to soothe your skin leaving it soft and supple with a healthy glow.

3. Always wear sunscreen for your face
Every dermatologist in the world will point out the importance of wearing SPF daily (even when you’re indoors). Sunscreens not only protect against skin cancer but also decrease the chance of long-lasting sun damage like sunspots, wrinkles, skin sagging, etc.
And if we are only to follow one piece of advice, we should apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher every day.
Check out this tried-and-true sunscreen Missha Mild Essence Sun Milk SPF 50/PA+++. It’s lightweight, skin-nourishing, goes well with makeup, and won’t burn you to a crisp. It’s also perfect for dry or combination dry skin.

4. Give your body what it needs (skincare hacks)
We often hear this. Drink plenty of water, have eight hours of sleep, and eat clean to avoid breakouts. Dermatologist and creator of Replere skincare Debbie Palmer, M.D. advises eating antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables. Dr. Abouhim, on the other hand, recommends a low-sodium diet to prevent puffiness.
5. Splash your face with cold water after washing
We are told to wash our faces with warm soapy water to open up our pores and clean them thoroughly. But we should always finish off by rinsing our face a few times with cold water to close those pores back up.
Removing bacteria and dirt out of the pores is good but what’s the point of doing this if we’ll leave the pores wide open? So splash your face with cold water and feel it super refreshing – especially if your skin is inflamed and sore.
6. Change your towels and sheets regularly (skincare hacks)
A cleaning expert with Fantastic Service Ralitsa Prodanova told metro.co.uk, “If you get a musty smell when you bring the towel up to your nose, that’s bacteria growing on the towel itself. And because towels are often warm and damp, they’re the perfect breeding ground for bugs and germs.”
Imagine drying your face with this towel. Yikes!
So how often should you change your towels and bedsheets? The answer might surprise you!
Prodanova suggests that we should be washing our towels after every three or four uses – which, for people who shower daily, is every three or four days.
The same goes for your bedsheets, Good Housekeeping advises washing your sheets “at least once every two weeks“, except when you tend to sweat a lot in bed, “you should increase this to once weekly.”
So change the sheets regularly to prevent the bacteria from spreading and save your face from acne.
